2016 featured the largest site area ever, cementing Henty Machinery Field Days as the single biggest outdoor and agriculture event in Australia. A 55,000 strong crowd over the the three days were welcomed through the gates to inspect the “agribusiness supermarket’’, showcased by 868 exhibitors on the biggest site area in the event’s history.
Held on September 20-22, the event drew record day one crowd numbers on Tuesday but wet weather dampened numbers for the remainder to result in the final tally.
Despite waterlogged winter crops in some areas, visitors responded by traveling from every state in Australia, armed with their shopping lists.
Our weeds display proved once again to be a quality display and featured our Grow Me Instead plants this year, to help consumers know what to plant, posing a more positive spin on our display. Its envisaged that this part of our display will be further enhanced for next years field days.
All reports were positive although the weather did impact somewhat on numbers through our display, which appeared to be down on previous years. Although wet underfoot in some parts it did not dampen our enthusiasm to arm the public with up to date weed information and a friendly face to talk to.
