You are invited to a Symposium to discuss the environmental and economic impacts of
Sagittaria (aquatic weed) on irrigation systems and waterways in northern Victoria and southern and central New South Wales. Potential downstream impacts of the spread of the weed will also be discussed.
The Symposium will comprise a guided tour of badly affected sections of the River Murray,
wetlands and irrigation channels, followed by a facilitated workshop to develop a shared view on the way forward in tackling this issue.
Policy and decision-makers from the Murray Darling Basin Commission, rural water, catchment and river management authorities will be joined by representatives in the fields of science, research and agriculture at the Symposium.
RSVP: Friday 12th March for catering purposes
