Henty Field Days 2011 - Overview

Henty Field days is over for another year!  Our display is getting bigger and better than ever!  Thanks to all those who contributed with bio control, plants, display material and ideas!

This year the display trailer was filled with our bio control display which worked well.  We incorporated this with some weed warriors information. As DPI are no longer funding weed warriors all enquiries will go through me and I will liaise with weed officers and the schools.

We also had the audio visual display inside the shed which came together quite well.  (Although we were all sick of that song by the end of the three days!! )  There was a suggestion made that it would be fantastic to have the screen mounted out the front of the shed (underneath the veranda) so that people passing by can see and watch what we have on there.  This will be investigated for next year.

Woody and Swampy were a big hit with the kids and adults alike.  A big thank you to all those who “volunteered” to get inside the suits – it was much appreciated and we have some fantastic photos and footage!  Not to mention Swampy and Woody meeting the NSW Minister for Primary Industry and Small Business, Katrina Hodgkinson!

The school groups poured through the display on Tuesday and it was great to see the resources being snapped up!  We will have to make sure we have plenty of lollies and giveaways for next year. 

The green show bags were also a great addition to our display.  Was fantastic to see so many of these "walking around" the field days.  What a fantastic way of advertising ourselves!
