A way with willows - National Willows Management DVD Available soon
I am pleased to announce that the new National Willows Management DVD titled, 'A way with willows' is in the final stages of production and will be available in May!!! The DVD is a National willows Taskforce project that has been developed to compliment the National Willows Management Guide. It is essentially a visual version of the management guide and includes interviews with willows managers and operational staff from across Australia and discusses the various methods of willows control and the safety procedure that should be followed. The film focuses on how to develop an effective control program and highlights how to achieve success in willow removal and site rehabilitation. It also touches on willow impacts and the importance of planning willow management. Filming of willow management in action occurred across south-eastern and central New South Wales, including sites at Berrima, Bowral, Mossvale, Cooma, Nimmitabel, Bredbo, Bathhurst and Orange. Filming has also occurred in northern Tasmania, at Cressy, Penguin and Don, and across north east and south eastern Victoria (including areas around Wodonga, Bunyip, Tarago, Maffra, and Leongatha). I would like to extend a huge thanks to the many people and organisations that have been involved with the project. The film has now entered final stages of editing and is likely to be released in May 2009. Interested in a copy?
